Lightning strike destroys Rh Anggut’s power generators, sparks fire

SIBU: Four power generators were destroyed, amongst other property, after lightning struck storage areas in Rh Anggut in Sungai Anai, Sibu. Tatau Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement today disclosed that the complainant had come to the station personally to make the report as the incident occurred yesterday. The department then sent PBT Jankey Jikat and PB Mohd Faizy to the longhouse to inspect the damage and gather information.

"Two storage areas which were used to house four power generators, a chainsaw, two paddy-grinding machines, agriculture chemicals, fertiliser and various other items, including some heirlooms, was destroyed in the fire incident,” the department revealed.

It was also understood that the incident occurred at 5.10pm, and the complainant only made the report today as road connectivity was cut off earlier. — DayakDaily
